YMMV / The New Adventures of Jonny Quest

• Base-Breaking Character: Though she only got to appear once, Jessie Bradshaw in the '80s series wasn't very liked by classic Quest fans for feeling like a shoehorned-in love interest for Jonny. Those who liked the character wished that she could appear more, although Jessie Bannon would more or less wind up filling the original Jessie's part.
  • Hard Rock the stone man. Does his presence hurt the verisimilitude of the series, or is he a cool addition to the main cast?
• Complete Monster ("Temple of Gloom"): The wicked Deprave is from a nation bordering two countries formerly in peace talks. Kidnapping Hadji's kindly mentor, Deprave subjects him to painful mental control to use his powers to sabotage the peace talks, with her intention being to force both nations to go to war and completely obliterate one another so she may preside over attempts to pick up the pieces.
• Shipping: While a lot that was present in the original series is still present here, Jessie Bradshaw's arrival adds some for her with Jonny. Of course given some prefer the later version of a girl named Jessie, there is a minor idea to pair her with the red-head girl from the original Jonny Quest, Denise Lor.
• So Okay, It's Average: The change in tone always was rather controversial. While the sense of crazy adventure is still there, it feels less big than in the original. For a lot of people this is average. When the DVD was promoted after its release it became obvious on social media plenty of people still say First Installment Wins.
