  • Awesome Music: "Hearts Big Enough" and "Hearts to Give Away" by Cameron Bruce.
  • Esoteric Happy Ending: Sean liquidates his funeral business in order to avoid a potential lawsuit, which immediately puts Dan out of a job with no other career prospects on the horizon.
  • Funny Moments:
    • Dan gets stung by a bluebottle. Hayden pees on the inflamed area to Dan's chagrin, all the while not bothered about the larger bluebottle stuck to his back.
    • Sean gets into a feud with a teenage boy that culminates in Sean cutting the boy's hair in his sleep. Kevin finds out and forces Sean to apologise, which Sean refuses to do without several lashings of sarcasm.
    • Terry making the cliche rush through the airport (which he gets away with due to being a senior staff member) to tell Yvonne he loves her. When he can't find her in the office, Terry makes a long and badly thought-out confession of love over the airport's speakers. Someone finally tells him that Yvonne isn't working today, so Terry starts announcing any changes in the flight schedules like nothing had happened.
    • After spending the final episode dealing with an unsatisfied customer who threatens to sue him, Sean manages to sort things out with his much more reasonable sister, who not only comes across as a potential love interest, but makes her brother look as childish as Sean often does.
"You said if I apologised we could go play with the ducks!"
  • Heartwarming Moments: The finale. Bridget finally gets her own baby. Dan and Cora get married in a hot air balloon, along with Terry and Yvonne getting married minutes later.
  • Squick:
    • Cora's brother.
    • Roger's idea of providing levity at Bridget's baby shower involves smearing chocolate in a nappy and feeding it to her. Everyone is naturally grossed out.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Yvonne had a good introduction, managing to keep Terry on his toes and humble Sean, but after breaking up with Terry she quickly devolved into little more than a goal to be attained. Telling is that at their wedding Yvonne's bridesmaids are Cora and Bridget instead of women she would know more personally.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Dan's relationship with Cora is put under strain when he finds out that she doesn't plan on having kids anytime soon. Given that Dan's only job at that time was for Sean's ill-thought out funeral service and Cora's own job requiring her to go out of state just to make ends meet, it really makes Dan come across as the load in their relationship.
