* HoYay: The scene where [[spoiler:Geraden and Terisa are rescued from the rock fall, and Artagel gets a little [[IncestIsRelative too]] caring over his brother's possible death. And then a little too cuddly afterward when it's revealed Geraden is still alive. Also, with Geraden "fainting away in Artagel's arms? Yeah]].

* FridgeLogic: Given that most of the "mirrors" the Imagers deal with ''don't actually reflect,'', and no one has ever looked in a real mirror and survived to talk about it, why do they call them "mirrors" and not "windows"?

* CharacterAlignment:
** NeutralGood: Geraden
** ChaoticGood: Artagel
** TrueNeutral: Terisa, of the SomebodyElsesProblem variety. By the end of the book, she's closer to ChaoticGood.
*** Also, King Joyse
** ChaoticNeutral: Adept Havelock
** LawfulEvil: Castellan Lebbick. YMMV, he could also be LawfulNeutral
*** A particular interesting example as Lebbick is not a scheming villian by any stretch of the imagination. It's made pretty clear that he was once LawfulGood, but events have pushed him over the line and then some. He's still motivated by noble motives, he genuinely thinks Terisa is plotting against Joyse as from his perspective the evidence points squarely at her. In fact by the second book Terisa is actually feeling sorry for the guy even after he's [[spoiler: locked her in a dungeon and explained exactly how he's going to torture her]].
** [[spoiler: NeutralEvil: Eremis]]
