YMMV / The Lost King of Oz

Go To

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Dorothy returns to America after a twenty-something year absence, rapidly ages into an adult, and all she does is bring a dummy to life and head right back to Oz all in one chapter, and the story continues as normal? A plot about Dorothy getting trapped in America and trying to get back to Oz could have been a good plot for an entire book (in fact it would be a clever inverse of the first book at this point in the series, where Oz for Dorothy has very much become her home), but instead it’s almost treated as another gimmicky Wacky Wayside Tribe chapter-long excursion from the plot that is soon forgotten, and only affects the plot as a whole by introducing Humpy, who really could have been introduced in any number of ways without having to leave Oz.
