  • Eddie Hairstyle is played by Gary Holton, who would later be best known for playing Wayne Norris in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
  • A receptionist is played by Janine Duvitski, who would later be best known for playing Jane Edwards in Waiting for God and Pippa Trench in One Foot in the Grave.
  • Val is played by Lesley Joseph, who would later be best known for playing Dorien Green in Birds of a Feather.
• Unintentional Period Piece: Surprisingly, in the modern age of satellite navigation and other technologies, learning "The Knowledge" is still very much a reality for those aspiring to be London cabbies, and has hardly changed: the first run still being "Manor House station to Gibson Square". Legend has it that Knowledge boys and girls still have to call the examiner "sir" (or presumably "madam") during their appearances. However, the film very much reflects the 1970s with clothes, home decor, mopeds with pedals, and Everybody Smokes.
