• Breakout Character: Senior Anthropologist Hoole went from narrating a single chapter of the book to being one of the main characters of the Galaxy of Fear series.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Galaxy of Fear elaborates on the fate of Halka Four-Den's expedition to Dagobah, and it turns out the whole thing ended even worse than it initially appeared. The expedition's distress call managed to get the attention of a cruise ship, which not only failed to rescue them but also crashed, stranding another forty people on Dagobah. Even more heartbreaking, Hoole and the Arranda twins find another Apocalyptic Log from Halka Four-Den, this one recorded on her deathbed, in which she breaks down in tears as she admits that the only way that she could keep the children of the survivors alive was by feeding them the bodies of the dead.
