• Crosses the Line Twice: Many of the suggestions made by the panel in the Space Invaders segment toe the line.
• Foe Yay Shipping: Russel and Todd never agree, and there's at least one Facebook page about their UST.

• Strawman Has a Point: "The Pitch" sometimes comes up with concepts that, while they might be unsellable, get mighty convincing ads. "Parent License" (Your Choice, My Life) and "Australian Democrats" (Bastards) come to mind. This is, of course, the point — to demonstrate how effective advertising can be at changing our minds and persuading us to make choices we might not otherwise make.
  • Many are so convincing that it makes you wonder why the various political parties haven't hired those companies yet.
    • The Greens did hire one of the companies that made a Pitch ad about them, this fact was noted on the show along with the similarity between the ad made for The Pitch and the ad made for the Greens.
    • Similarly, a Pitch contender that promoted euthanasia was quickly revamped into an actual ad by pro-euthanasia groups.
