YMMV / The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera

Go To

  • Cult Classic: The ride has actually gotten something of a fanbase, especially from those who missed it over its later replacements (Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast and Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem) at Universal Studios.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Dastardly and Muttley's motivation for kidnapping Elroy is out of frustration at not getting a shot at a movie like The Jetsons and the rest of the Hanna-Barbera universe had. Only thirty years later...
  • Unintentional Period Piece:
    • The main reason why it lost popularity and eventually closed. When the ride first opened, Hanna-Barbera was one of the biggest names in animation. By the year it closed, it had significantly dwindled in terms of relevance and recognition with young children. With the exception of Scooby-Doo, all of the classic Hanna-Barbera shows and characters featured in the ride hadn't been used prominently in years and had been overshadowed by the many new cartoons that premiered throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.
    • Another outdated aspect of the ride is how it discussed computer animation and how it was a brand new way of animation. CGI mostly became the norm in animation by the time the ride closed.
