- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: This movie is extremely depressing, with few moments of levity or triumph for the protagonists. Each one is shown as a fundamentally good person surrounded by evil and wrong, and even if two of them gain a nominal happy ending, one can expect them to be scarred for life. The washed-out grey colour palette that permeates the film (which is factually accurate for the region of Zeeland overall) does little to help matters.
