• Ass Pull: The idea that Thawne is suddenly vulnerable to being erased from time for real. Barry claims that he had created a single, cohesive timeline, but we have no evidence that he even knows how to do that, if it is even possible (given the existence of Legends of Tomorrow), or how that would have any effect on the Negative Speed Force's in-built ability to keep its speedsters immune to the effects of changes to the time stream.
  • It's never actually explained how Mia got the ability to time travel so the viewers are left to wonder how she wound up in Central City in the first place.
• It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: While this is the first time shown on this series, it's the third time overall in the Arrowverse that we've had a tearful farewell between Damien Darhk and his daughter Nora.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Joe guilt-tripping Barry and Iris into saving Thawne has been met with this response. Considering that Thawne is an irredeemable monster, who admitted to Barry's face that he will keep trying to kill him and his family after being saved, and that he would've died making his own bed, trying to imply that them letting things run its course is equivalent to murder was just seen as going way too far. This is especially notable given, barring events that have been undone by time travel, Thawne hasn't actually had a direct negative effect on Joe's life, in contrast to him ruining Barry's life multiple times.
