• Fanon: Misato being Kaji's executioner and Asuka buying her own excuse to kiss Shinji are fanon misconceptions Word of God disproved long ago.
• Harsher in Hindsight: This fic was written twelve years before Rebuild of Evangelion showed a continuity where Shinji get stuck into Unit-01, seemingly permanently, and the cast had very different reactions (Asuka and Misato in particular torn between resenting him and caring about him).
• Moral Event Horizon: As far as Rei is concerned, Gendo crossed it when he cloned Shinji.
