YMMV / The Confession of Fred Krueger

Go To

  • Jerkass Woobie: This is the closest thing there is to a sympathetic portrayal of Freddy. His childhood was far worse than it was in the original canon (even though some bits of that are kept in this film). But he's still a mean, unrepentant monster, so the "woobie" part may not be applicable any longer.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Freddy's torture of animals in his youth was certainly heinous, but didn't necessarily place him beyond redemption. And burning down Underwood's place was forgivable, because he deserved it. However, when he willingly took the life of an innocent child in a drunken rage, there was no more going back for him.
