• Award Snub: They scored Best Folk Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2012 Grammys without so much as a nomination for Best New Artist.
  • Their Taylor Swift collaboration Safe and Sound, which was from The Hunger Games soundtrack, won a grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media and was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Original Song. However, they were not nominated for the equivalent category at the Oscars.
• Epic Riff: "Barton Hollow" is pretty damn epic.
• Heartwarming Moments: Adele really loves them, and isn't the least bit shy about showing it.
• Signature Song: "Barton Hollow," easily.
  • "Poison & Wine" probably qualifies as well.
• Tear Jerker:
  • "Poison & Wine."
  • "Falling" as well.
  • "Safe & Sound," a collaboration with Taylor Swift.
  • Hoo boy, "The One That Got Away". As if the lyrics and the sad harmony of the strings weren't enough, this single was produced at a time when chemistry between the two was at its all-time low.
  • And then there's "D'arline", the final song on what would end up being their final album. Hearing them sing "You'll always be the only one/Even when you’re gone" is just devastating. The lo-fi recording significantly enhances the feeling of bittersweet nostalgia.
