  • All the orphans, but most prominently Fuzzy, who tragically dies before he even has a chance to ever be adopted. Likewise Curly, who only wants to have a loving family, and cries when Hazel is adopted by one instead of himself.
  • Wally, who returns from war severly injured (paralyzed from the waist down), not knowing that his girlfriend commited adultery with his newest employee- Though she herself truly regrets it.
  • Rose, who is a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of her own father, and shortly goes through an unwanted pregnancy.
