YMMV / The Captain From Nowhere

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Some viewers were unconvinced of Erika Brahmann's integrity and suspected her version of the story to be heavily sanitized. She claims that she was essentially held prisoner by Herold and company and forced to work for them. Witnesses however saw her together with them, in and out of uniform, and Freitag testified that she wanted to shoot one of the Dutchmen whom Herold had condemned to death. In any case, even if that had been true, there was no evidence to accuse her of any wrongdoing.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • Both female witnesses described how, when Herold and his band were partying, they laughed about the people they had murdered, the way the blood had splattered on the wall and other gory details.
    • The witness who recalled children playfully dangling from the feet of Nikolaus Spark, who had been hanged by Herold's men on Captain Kathim's orders.
    • Several witnesses are in fact visibly traumatized by the events they survived, in spite of the passage of time.
