• Nightmare Fuel: Some of the injuries the schoolgoers face are pretty gruesome, including Teri getting completely torn in half while shrieking in pain, Rocky completely losing his nose, and Banana Joe being run over by an ambulance.
• Tear Jerker: Mr. Small's plight is not at all Played for Laughs; it's clear that the lack of fulfillment from being a teacher is making him miserable, and for several portions of the episode, he's holed up in his office, holding back tears and burying himself in inspiration quotes he wrote himself.
