YMMV / Tevin Campbell

Go To

  • Award Snub:
    • Tevin was nominated for five R&B Grammys in his career, and won NONE of them because he had the terrible luck of going up against extremely tough competition each time. His first nomination saw him lose to Luther Vandross' "Here and Now", his second lost to Al Jarreau's Heaven and Earth, and his last three between 1994 and 1995 saw him lose to Ray Charles, Babyface (who ironically wrote and produced "I'm Ready", the song Tevin was nominated for), and an absolutely white-hot Boyz II Men.
    • The American Music Awards and Soul Train Awards weren't much kinder to Tevin. Tevin never won either of the two AMAs he was nominated for, though he managed to snag at least one Soul Train Award out of his three nominations.
  • Signature Song: "Can We Talk" in general; "I 2 I" for Disney fans
