• Alternate Character Interpretation:
  • Is Tim Gunn's character actually God? He comes off like a run-of-the-mill Celestial Bureaucrat, but when narrating the film, he apologizes for getting ahead of himself, saying that this happens a lot when one is omniscient, which could hint that he is considerably more powerful than a common angel (as omniscience is typically associated with God).
  • Did Amber really get saved because of some Loophole Abuse, or was it a reward for her Heroic Sacrifice?It's worth noting that the details of her Mission from God specifically mention making the least popular student Prom Queen, so Ain't No Rule really couldn't apply.
• Anvilicious: High school cliques and levels of popularity are wrong!
• Heartwarming Moments: The hug between Amber and Lisa at the end and Lisa's words to God: "Thank you for her..."
• Hilarious in Hindsight: On 10 Things I Hate About You, Chris Zylka played the love interest for Lindsey Shaw's character sister. Bianca wouldn't be very happy about that.
• Nightmare Fuel: The driver of the bus to hell asks all the passengers to please remove all of their hair and teeth before exiting, so as to speed the torture. Amber gets rescued at the last moment. Everyone else on the bus... doesn't. Pretty much everyone there is shown to be an Asshole Victim, but it's still a lot darker than you'd expect from a teen TV movie.
• Tearjerker: Any scene involving ghost-Amber and her still-living family.
