• Awesome Art: Like Sonic Mania Adventures, the animation is very well-done.
• Broken Base: Depending on who you ask this miniseries is either a hilarous (or at least harmless) set of shorts that provides high entertainment value or is a cynical piece of work designed to sell merchandise and shows everything wrong with the story and characterization of the Sonic cast in the 2010s
• Crosses the Line Twice:
  • Shadow in general, from running over an Egg Pawn disguised as a cat to Eggman's horror and stealing popcorn from a Chao and said Chao crying.
  • After Eggman is defeated by being crushed by Shadow's wayward car, an Egg Pawn is seen getting on his knees and seemingly wanting to yell into the sky. Even better is how Tyson Hesse made a follow-up tweet parodying the scene from The Lion King (1994) where Mufasa arrives as a cloud that uses Eggman and the Egg Pawn instead.
• Heartwarming Moments: Team Sonic looking out for each other throughout the whole animation, earning their victory through their teamwork.
• Memetic Mutation: Shocked Eggman from Episode 2 of Overdrive, comparable to the likes of Surprised Pikachu and Surprised Pyrrha.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Fans expressed disappointment that Team Vector doesn't appear and how the only member of Team Eggman to appear is the doctor himself.
