YMMV for the whole Franchise

  • Abandon Shipping: In Trollhunters, Steve/Eli got a rather large fanbase when the two of them became best friends and a prime Bully and Wimp Pairing. By the time that 3Below comes around, Steve becomes the canon Love Interest of Aja and their relationship became very popular quickly, causing some fans to drop the ship and start shipping Steve/Aja, as a side effect, a Ship Mates Krel/Eli was also created.
  • Complete Monster:
    • 3Below: General Val Morando is a would-be Galactic Conqueror who, in the premiere, takes over the planet Akiridion-5 and reduces it to a fascistic hellhole through a brutal coup. Morando plays Varvatos Vex, the defender of the royal family, for years, having murdered Vex's entire family alongside hundreds of other innocent people simply to use a fake pretext to manipulate Vex. When Vex catches onto his lies, Morando gleefully pledges to make Vex watch as he kills his new Family of Choice instead. Throughout the series, Morando murders failed minions and bounty hunters, sometimes for reasons as petty as delivering bad news; strings along the bigoted Colonel Kubritz before killing her as well when she disobeys him; kills many of the heroes' allies; and attempts to transform himself into a god in order to destroy and remake the entire universe to give it the "order" he so craves, nearly wiping out much of Arcadia Bay in the process.
    • Wizards & Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans:
      • Bellroc, Keeper of the Flame, is the master of the Arcane Order and one of the primordial demigods who shaped the universe. Discontent with humanity and their corruption of their order, Bellroc grew blind to the damage they inflicted upon the world, simply deciding to destroy it and start over. Bellroc mortally wounds King Arthur to fully corrupt Morgana le Fay and see her overrun and annihilate humanity, attempting to awaken the Titans by forcing the one repenting member of the Order, Nari, to assist despite her will. Bellroc proceeds to awaken the Titans and lead an attempt to uncover the Heartstone at Arcadia Bay, intending to destroy all that lives according to their own ego.
      • Skrael of the North Wind is Bellroc's subordinate and partner in the Order, being perhaps the most viciously sadistic of the trio. Forsaking his own vow of neutrality, Skrael happily joins the fight to kill many humans with intent to completely exterminate them. In between battles, Skrael enjoys torturing his captives, as he viciously does to Steve, later showing a similar glee in hurting Nari as well before forcing her to attempt to awaken the Titans and unmake all in existence.
  • Magnificent Bastard:
    • Franchise-wide: Morgana, also known as the Pale Lady, Baba Yaga, and by many more names, was a young student of Merlin who despaired at her brother Arthur's persecution of magical beings. Falling to darkness when Arthur died, Morgana would manipulate legions over the ensuing centuries to advance her goals of world conquest, having the troll Angor Rot sell his soul to her to use him as her assassin. Upon returning to life in Wizards, Morgana later repents and joins the heroes to help defeat the evil Arcane Order and the resurrected Arthur, giving her life to destroy him when she realizes he is beyond saving while reconciling with her mentor Merlin and following him into the afterlife.
    • Trollhunters: Angor Rot is a tenacious assassin whose cunning and competence helps stand out as one of the Trollhunter's most dangerous foes. Once a noble warrior corrupted by Morgana, Angor leaves a trail of bodies of former Trollhunters before being imprisoned. Free and serving Stricklander to kill Jim, Angor devises many schemes to test Jim's might and manages to steal the ability of wielding Daybreak. Wanting to break free of Stricklander's control, Angor strikes a deal with Jim after filling the school with hallucinogens so he can wander freely within. Forcing Jim and Stricklander to team together, Angor sneaks into Jim's house to strike and later leads an assault on Trollmarket itself with an armada of golems he fashioned after he managed to steal the Horngazel from Claire. Revived by Morgana, Angor joins Gunmar with hunting for the staff of Avalon, ambushing the heroes and fatally wounding Draal. Reminded of his past with a duel against Jim, Angor aids the heroes by striking Morgana. Mortally wounded, Angor provides the heroes the means to stop Morgana's chaotic ambitions, his final moments as the warrior he once was.
  • Spiritual Adaptation: To the Arthurian Legend, in some ways or more.
