- Difficulty Spike: For each tier that you complete to 100% on the Elite Bosses stages, the bosses will get a significant increase in their battle-life points on the next tier, which means you have to keep improving your own stats to keep up with them.
- Nightmare Fuel: All over the place within the game. The "Sins' City" mission tier provides some of the most recent examples; sub-boss Legion is just one example.
- That One Boss: Any of the bosses under the Elite Bosses tiers may qualify, so long as you haven't improved your stats adequately.
