• Harsher in Hindsight: After losing their son, the Danvers comfort themselves with the thought they still have their lovely adoptive daughter. Flash forward several years and their daughter gets killed in action.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: When a man knocks on the Danvers door and is greeted by Linda Danvers, he claims to know for a fact the Danvers don't have a daughter because he is their son Jan. Linda retorts she is their adoptive daughter, and their parents never mentioned one son. Fifty-two years later, the Supergirl (2015) show introduced Alex Danvers, who is a gender-flipped version of Jan.
• Unintentional Period Piece: You can tell this story was written in the early 60's because: Jan Danvers was older enough to fight in Korea (his death being reported in 1951), but his parents are still a middle-aged; and because Biff rigger is seen smoking in a hospital.
