YMMV / Supergirl 2015 S 6 E 20 Kara

  • Anti-Climax: Lex and Nyxly have their Allstone fragments and are set upon by the Superfriends, their immediate allies, and the citizens of National City. Lex opens a portal to allow Phantom Zone demons to run rampant, and it looks like the final battle will take everything they have... except then the Phantoms turn around and drag Lex and Nyxly through the Phantom Zone portal and close it up (right after Lex said it couldn't be closed, no less), ending the fight right then and there. Given how quickly it happened and before even the halfway mark, many viewers expected there to be something more, but nope.
  • Esoteric Happy Ending:
    • Brainy chooses to stay with Nia; however in doing so, and by refusing to merge with the Big Brain, he causes the apparent genocide of the Coluan race. Also, assuming Brainy isn't one of Nura Nal's ancestors, he's endangering her family lineage and her existence (one would think that, if he's heard of Nia, he knows whom she's supposed to marry or could have checked).
    • Nyxly's evil father, who's been hyped up as being much worse than she, is presumably still ruler of the Fifth Dimension. And frankly, given that Nyxly showed she still had good in her as recently as the previous episode, suddenly poofing her away to the Phantom Zone forever seems like an inappropriate ending.
    • Kara revealing her superhero identity will make everyone she's close to a target for supervillains. Not to mention the problems that would result for Clark, Lois, and their children if people start asking why Superman doesn't reveal his identity if his cousin does (fortunately, their civilian identities Kara Danvers and Clark Kent aren't publicly known to be cousins like Supergirl and Superman). Superman & Lois being revealed to be in another universe doesn't negate this, since the main Arrowverse still has a Superman and a Lois in it, and presumably a Jon and a Jordan as well since "the boys" were mentioned by Lois at the end of the Infinite Crisis. And of course, the integrity of all Kara's previous articles about herself should be called into question, though that may be ignored by Artistic License – Law.
