YMMV / Supergirl (2015) S2E17 "Distant Sun"

• Genius Bonus: The reveal that the President is really a reptilian-looking alien is an obvious joke for anyone who knows about the various UFO conspiracy theorists who insist aliens called Reptilians secretly control governments around the world.
• Special Effects Failure: The alien bounty hunter that engages in a Beam-O-War with Kara at the beginning of the episode looks incredibly fake.
• Squick: The pulsating skull of the telepathic bounty hunter.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • An episode about Kara dealing with alien bounty hunters, yet not even a single reference to Lobo.
  • Not just Lobo. This would have been a good excuse to bring out many of DC's alien races in a huge free-for-all fighting episode. Instead Kara just fights two, and one of them mind-controls Mon-El to do the fighting for him.
  • Kara trying to help around the city while remaining undetected could have been interesting way of showing her approach superheroics from a different angle. Instead she does what she's told and doesn't help anyone.
