  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Japan is the only country where the film has merchandise and a website.
  • Cliché Storm: The film is basically Hamlet meets Avatar.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: The creators didn't intend for this movie to be for children, and it accordingly has PG-13 type ratings in its home countries and practically all of Europe. It was nevertheless released with a PG in the UK and revived an award for Best Children's Film, despite being a very somber and political movie.
