• Crosses the Line Twice: This show isn't known for a lot of self-aware jokes, so when Steven physically pushes his mom's image out of his mind because "those feelings are complicated," it's especially hilarious.
• Harsher in Hindsight: When trying to think happy thoughts to prevent from crashing into the ground, Steven tries to think of Rose Quartz... only to literally push her out of his mind, as "those feelings are complicated." As it turns out, this wasn't just a hilarious self aware joke, as a few episodes later, the mental image his mother's disapproving face has serious consequences.
