• Hilarious in Hindsight: Sadie's VA, Kate Micucci, once sang a song about having to deal with an unwanted third wheel named "Steve" on dates, which pretty accurately describes Steven's constant Moment Killer moments throughout the episode.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Marking the beginning of what would become a trend, this episode, like many subsequent episodes starring Lars or the other normal Beach City residents, is rather polarizing. A number of fans would've preferred following the Crystal Gems minus Steven in their underwater adventure over the episode's actual plot.
