• Engaging Chevrons: One of the rare times the trope is subverted and the sequence is instead Played for Drama. The sequence begins like normal, but at the end, the gate uses eight chevrons to open. The new Gate technician (who was not Walter, this episode) can only say "Chevron seven... is encoded?" and "Chevron eight is locked" in awe.
