• Harsher in Hindsight: The Doctor's daydream of the Borg assimiliation virus infecting the crew became this, and more, rather than cheesy, when Star Trek: Picard's episode "Vox" aired, revealing that the Borg did indeed form this plan from the first time that Picard was assimilated! However, they did it in a roundabout way, and instead used the transporter systems of the Federation to implant the virus into any of its users.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: In this episode, the Doctor imagines himself commanding Voyager, dubbing himself the "Emergency Command Hologram". Star Trek: Picard would show that Starfleet has since developed emergency holographic programs for the other divisions besides Medical, including Command, Engineering, Hospitality, Navigational, Tactical, and Training, the last being modeled after Janeway herself, no less, in Star Trek: Prodigy.
• Jerkass Woobie: The Doctor, best exemplified by the crew seeing how perverse the Doctor's daydreams are, and turning to leave, but not before Janeway catches daydream!Doctor talking about how all he really wanted was to be appreciated and help his friends.
• Narm Charm: Chakotay screaming "We're becoming drones!" is rather cheesy. Paired with the visuals of the crew being actually assimilated, it's slightly easier to take seriously.
