- Alternative Character Interpretation: Future!Nobita. Was he selfish for abandoning Shizuka at the wedding? Or was he insecure because he felt he wasn't the right man for her and thought that the only reason she accepted to marry him was because she felt pity for him?
- Broken Base: While many Doraemon fans and moviegoers think that this movie is an improvement over the original film, there are several people who didn't enjoy the movie, feeling that it was another cheap recompilation of chapters from the manga, as well as getting frustrated with the immaturity of Adult!Nobita, with many agreeing that because of his selfish actions (especially escaping from the wedding) and the little repercussions he faces for them, he doesn't deserve Shizuka's heart.
- Even Better Sequel: Most Doraemon fans and moviegoers agree the film improves the first movie for having a more cohesive storyline and for the relationship between Nobita and his grandmother, giving a lot of heartfelt and tearjerking moments.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: Just like the first movie, the animation is stunning, filled with details in the backgrounds and having a great use of lighting. And the character animations feel a lot more smooth in comparison to the first movie.
