Ensemble Dark Horse: Carl is pretty popular among fans of Season 4 for his surprisingly creepy role as a psychopathic manager. In particular, his Human Resources threat and quote of, "The less you know, Eugene... the better," are seen as really effective Nightmare Fuel, and the fact that he's voiced by, modeled, and named after former SpongeBob writer C.H. Greenblatt makes him all the more sadistically endearing.
Squidward's take on the Krabby O'Monday's birthday song.
"Wait a minute, I hate golf."Explanation During Mr. Krab's post-retirement Boredom Montage, he tries playing golf until he realized his dislike of the sport in the middle of a game. This line is often joked with "golf" being replaced by some other sport, game, show, etc. to make fun of people who have a love-hate relationship or Hatedom towards something.
Funny Pants:
Broken Base: Some consider it one of the worst episodes of season 4, mainly due to the perceived auditory annoyance of SpongeBob's constant laughing and later crying, while others think that it has an interesting plot and some pretty good jokes, especially when SpongeBob is trying to avoid laughing. Others take a third option, and agree with both sides, finding the episode to be a mixed bag.
Memetic Mutation: SpongeBob burying himself is often used in response to anything considered cringeworthy, with it sometimes being edited to contain the word "NOPE" on top of where he's buried.
