* HilariousInHindsight: Dandy wonders how he can get the narrator's job after the latter blows off describing the myriad alien species in the opening episode. Dandy's English VA Creator/IanSinclair would go on to perform similar LemonyNarrator duties for two [[Manga/KaguyaSamaLoveIsWar different]] [[Manga/HowHeavyAreTheDumbbellsYouLift series]].

* UglyCute: The Plant Scientist's daughter, 0-33H, is ridiculously moe-worthy despite being a sentient plant. Her reactions with Dandy are just ''plain adorable''.

* SignatureScene: Dandy, Meow, and QT trying to escape the planet full of giant aliens. It's a complete batshit insane scene animated beautifully with catchy music. It has giant alien monsters fighting each other along with Dandy and Meow and culminates with the planet exploding, kill everyone including the main cast. It helps that it's from the ''first episode'' alone.

Seems like these weren't true Broken Base examples if they ended up being resolved before the show finished airing. A Broken Base is a sustained conflict between factions in the fandom.

* BrokenBase:
** The whole [[SubbingVersusDubbing Sub vs. Dub]] debate is more pronounced than usual here, since the show was aired in Japan '''AFTER''' America.
** ''Anime/CowboyBebop'' and ''Manga/OutlawStar'' fans who were expecting another serious sci-fi anime (with occasional comedy) in the same vein as those two were at least somewhat disappointed to learn that ''Space Dandy'' is more of an out and out comedy. Granted the show can have occasional serious moments (like the Pops scene in Episode 2) and some nice action scenes, but the overall tone is still outright comedic. Those who are fans of the series accept that it isn't Cowboy Bebop 2.0 and tend to appreciate how experimental the show is with having a different art direction nearly every episode and the wide variety of plots ranging from comedic to mostly serious.
*** The above now seems to be slightly less broken as of post-Episode 5, with the show doing more of a balancing act between comedy and seriousness (see GrowingTheBeard below).
** "Does ''Space Dandy'' have continuity or not?? If it does, they're not writing it clearly enough, and if it doesn't, that's not what anime should be like!" [[spoiler:Fortunately, it turns out it does, and the writers intended to fool us all along. Not that there would necessarily be anything wrong with it if there wasn't.]]

The Chick is a disambiguation, not a trope.

* ViewerGenderConfusion: QT is a male robot but fans typically refer to him as a girl due to his voice and his [[TheChick role]], as well as the fact that QT [[AmbiguousGender wasn't referred to as a male until half-way through the first season]], giving viewers time to make assumptions about the robot's gender.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: The job of alien hunters like Dandy is find rare aliens and get them registered. However, Dandy has shown he is willing to forcibly capture aliens and have them register against their will to make a profit.
* ValuesDissonance: "The Transfer Student Is Dandy, Baby" is framed around Dandy, a man in his late twenties to early thirties, pretending to be a high school student in order to sneak into a private school and sneak away with a rare alien student. He also openly fantasizes about being with teen girls attending the school and frequently leers at them throughout the episode. A set up that's comedic in Japan and creepy in most western countries.
