• Aluminum Christmas Trees: P. Diddy's "Vote or Die" campaign was real, seriously, though it is no longer active.
• Broken Base: The general consensus of this episode. Some find it pretty amusing in its own right, with the portrayal of PETA and Puff Daddy being seen as a highlight, while others find it too mean-spirited and unpleasant for its own good, especially with its portrayal of Kyle and the rest of the town.
• Memetic Mutation: President Douche vs. President Turd^Explanation The episode's portrayal of elections as being a choice between two equally awful options became a popular source of comparisons in the United States during election season among people disillusioned with American politics. The comparisons became especially popular during and after the 2016 election due to the polarizing nature of both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and the heated tone of subsequent presidental and midterm elections.
• Never Live It Down: Kyle's behavior towards Stan in this episode, which isn't helped by the fact that it never gets brought up again. He does suffer in the last couple episodes of the season and "Ginger Kids" (albeit for completely unrelated reasons), but this is still frequently brought up as an example of why Kyle is a terrible friend to Stan and why, at the very least, he should hold himself at least partially responsible for the latter developing so much negativity in later episodes and the unrevised future.
• The Woobie: Poor Stan has to endure a lot of torment just so he could be forced to vote.
