- Harsher in Hindsight: Mel Gibson is shown as a deranged man who chases Stan and Kenny for hating The Passion and ends up making a fool of himself in front of everyone in town (even going so far as to act like Daffy Duck, back when he was a screwball). In 2006, Gibson was pulled over for drunk driving, and while being arrested, he made anti-Semitic remarks and insulted a female officer by calling her a misogynistic name. In 2010, he was taped making racial and sexist slurs and screamed at his wife while threatening her, in a way that is scarily similar to his insane depiction.
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- On the other hand, tapes to Gibson's ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva makes this exaggeration even funnier.
- In "Fantastic Easter Special", Kyle would end up having to kill Jesus at His own request. He of course asks that Cartman never finds out before doing so.
- A controversial film made by a director with less than politically correct views inspiring a failed attempt at violence sounds a lot similar to the controversy surrounding Joker. The media feared that it would inspire a mass shooting, with many believing they were deliberately invoking Do Not Do This Cool Thing, but thankfully, it didn't.
