• Diagnosed by the Audience: Word of God [1] says Danny experience is somewhat similar to what autistic people experience, though the character is never meant to be implicitly autistic some people could draw the parallels while watching the show.
• Left Hanging: Probably, it seems unlikely the show gets picked up for a second season for bad ratings but there are a lot of unresolved plots, like how Mark turned his life around after killing Danny's mother we never get to see Danny adjust to the real world and Aaron and Ben (Aaron's biological father) relationship is left there unsolved or if Ash will ever see Danny again (and what he was hiding when he said he did not want to say where he is from). While the main Flashback B-Plot with Danny and Steve is more or less resolved.
