  • Heartwarming Moments: The family coming back together after the death of Wesley, Tushka, and Pinti's mother, mourning but ready to rise again and fix their mistakes.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Wesley, in the middle of sex, stops instantly when he hears his mother is in the hospital and immediately ends his trip to come home.
    • Wesley and Cal's first argument about their mother after she suffers the stroke, both family members verbally ripping into each other and blaming each other for it.
    • The news that Wesley's mother won't be making it out of the hospital, even as Wesley denies it and rants about it.
    • The funeral, centering around the return of the voice message Wesley's mother left him and the entire family breaking into tears of grief.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Tushka is portrayed as a tragic character, but the fact he kissed an underage girl and lost his career in a position of power over said girl, and the fact that he feels he has the right to try and intimidate Brody, is a clear example of hypocrisy. It doesn't help that he's told by the end that he can fix things by Cal despite the fact his deeds are clearly irreparable, and is shown to still be outside his wife and son's home even after she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with him, making him come off less as a noble man who did something wrong and more of a creep who Annie has every right never to trust again.
