• Aluminum Christmas Trees: Duane Eddy was a real artist during the prime Berry Gordy involvement era, but he never actually worked for Motown Records.
• Minority Show Ghetto: Sherman's Showcase features nearly entirely African-American musicians. That's clearly the way Sherman likes it and he blatantly does his best to keep it that way. Liz Giant's booking was a painfully obvious Excuse Plot to feature Charade. The commercials lampshade that Natasha Bedingfield will play as herself eventually just as a throwaway joke to highlight that Sherman doesn't have much interest in featuring non-black acts.
• Obscure Popularity: As of August 30th 2019 at 1500 EST, on Rotten Tomatoes the show holds a 100% Tomatometer rating behind 20 critics, and a 100% Audience score. This is a show that ranks around 125th for cable ratings for the night. Reruns of Girlfriends a show that ended 11 years ago, ranks in the 110s on BET.
