• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Rehab and his elderly date walking in on Bam-Bam giving a hand job to a gay chef in exchange for ribs.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The line "Elvis died all religious and fat/No way in hell I'm going out like that/I’m going lean like Bowie/I’m a pretty Bowie lean machine" after Bowie's dying of cancer in January of 2016. The show actually pays tribute to Bowie in season two, when Johnny says he wants Bowie's "Lazarus" played at his funeral.
• Romantic Plot Tumor: Both seasons, especially season 2, put a lot of focus on Gigi and Flash's Age-Gap Romance at the expense of leaving less room to develop Johnny's and Gigi's navigations through the modern musical landscape, eventually evolving into Flash and Ava cheating on their partners with each other as the band starts to fall apart. In season 2, it swallows up a lot of the show's limited run time and makes the show forget it's a comedy.
