Harsher in Hindsight: In the movie, the character Luther is shot in the back and killed by Tisean. On October 3, 2020, Thomas Jefferson Byrd, the actor who played Luther, was shot in the back and killed.

Frankie counts as well, as she was unfairly fired from her job at the bank in the film's opening just for knowing one of the robbers Darnell despite not being involved with the robbery.
T.T. too, her son is taken from her by child services after an accident at work because she was unable to find a babysitter and will likely spend the rest of his childhood in the foster system.
