• Angst? What Angst?: Bobby seems to completely forget that he'll probably never see his parents again once Serendipity hatches.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The inhabitants of an island giving a unfair trial to a main character is similar to what would happen in Super Mario Sunshine almost two decades later. What tops it off is that Yōichi Kotabe worked on both projects.
  • One of the island's inhabitants resembles Lisa Simpson, years before The Simpsons existed. Her voice in the English dub seems deliberately close to Lisa's voice.
