• Death of the Author: Some fans prefer to ignore that Rinko has between 25-27 years for those who prefer the age gap between her and Ryo to be smaller.
• Strangled by the Red String: Hifumi and Kurokawa are mentioned to be getting married in the Distant Finale after spending most of the manga being extremely vitrolic to each other and only getting along to tease Rinko. Is very likely their relationship would have being explored more if the manga wasn't Screwed by the Network
• Strawman Has a Point: Kurokawa in a nutshell. He's a jerk who treated Rinko and Hifumi poorly in the past with ulterior motives to ruin the relationship while he hypocritically flirts with the female students. Yet he's completely right about everything he says. He makes a very solid point that if the relationship between Rinko and Ryo is discovered all the responsibility would fall in her and could potentially ruin her career. He notes that Ryo choosing his career of choice to find a way to be closer to Rinko doesn't sound like someone taking his future seriously. In another chapter he points out that they aren't being cautious enough for a Secret Relationship and that they shouldn't contact each other inside the school. Even if his motives are far from noble he makes very solid arguments.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Sakota and Nishino don't get much characterization nor focus despite being Ryo's only friends. A bit ironic given one extra mentions Nishino being a Creator's Pet.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • Given the flashback episodes became an Aborted Arc we never find out how did Ryo and Rinko started dating.
  • Rinko's family had a entire chapter focused on them having a hard time accepting Rinko's younger sister An who is dating a single father 15 years her senior. So is a bit odd we never got a chapter of them finding out and having a hard time accepting Rinko's relationship with her student.
  • Because of the manga's cancellation we never got to see Ryo's final year nor how did he prepared to become a teacher nor Hifumi and Kurokawa's relationship development that lead them to getting married in the Distant Finale.
  • Sakota and Nishino never find out about Ryo and Rinko's Secret Relationship at least until the Distant Finale but even then, they are only shown shocked for one panel instead of exploring more their reactions.
