• Ensemble Dark Horse: Richard Lancelot, and how. In Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, he was made The Leader.
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: While not obscure in its native Japan, the series is better known in America.
• Macekre: Episodes were produced out of order. "Saber Rider" wasn't originally the leader (it was "Fireball"), and some episodes were either removed or replaced with completely different episodes that didn't exist in the Japanese version.
• Moe: Marianne was this in the original.
