• Designated Hero: We're supposed to root for player character Valdo, even though he's an admitted forger and something of a con man. In fact, those very skills are required to solve the mystery.
• Good Bad Bugs: One of these enables you to get past the most infuriating puzzle (making a copy of The Mona Lisa) without actually solving it. Most online walkthroughs for the game make a note of it.
• Ho Yay: Implied (and historically accurate). Salai, Leonardo da Vinci's lover who used to stay in Valdo's room, was male.
