• Unintentionally Unsympathetic. The episode wants us to feel bad for Mamoru as it's explained that he's forced to seperate from Usagi because of premonitions he's been having and how he still loves Usagi with all his heart. However, most viewers can't sympathize with him as he's a grown man who's choice in handling the situation is to be cold and ruthless to Usagi which just makes her more miserable with each act he performs. Not to mention he doesn't make much of an effort in discovering why he's been having those visions or at least use that to explain to his ex and her friends on why he's avoiding her (it's never stated that he couldn't tell anyone about his visions).
• The Woobie: Usagi gets hit with this hard. From having to see her boyfriend "move on" with another girl to her having to experience a Nightmare World where she can never reach the man she loves. And the cherry on top is that her destined lover continues to treat her with coldness even after saving her life with a kiss.
