However, they’re right in the fact that Lee shouldn’t be on the case as he has a personal connection to Soo Yung. Police officers in real life aren’t allowed to work cases they have a personal connection to.
• Unintentional Period Piece: All over the place, from being set mere months after the U.K.’s handover of Hong Kong back to China, the noticeably baggy fit of Carter’s suits, to him sneaking onto Lee’s plane disguised as an airline mechanic, the latter of which would land Carter in serious trouble then and exponentially more after 9/11. Perhaps for that reason, TBS’s airings in the 2000s would cut the start of that scene, picking up when Carter sits down next to Lee on said plane instead.
