Overshadowed by Controversy: The show itself is impossible to mention without getting into the plagiarism lawsuit or the scandal that followednote Cinar copied the show from a proposal in the 80s from creator Claude Robinson, which resulted in a lengthy legal battle that resolved in 2009, in Claude Robinson's favor; it also inadvertently exposed tax fraud and other seedy financial actions on Cinar's part that crumbled the studio down, resulting in it's rebranding as Cookie Jar Entertainment in 2004..
Unintentionally Sympathetic: Grumbleston when you consider that he's technically right; Robinson is a fraud who writes nothing but lies and tall tales, passing them off as real adventures.
Unintentionally Unsympathetic: For this exact same reason, it can be hard to root for Robinson, the supposed protagonist.
