Most notably Sasuke being caught with Sakura in her family's basement and being dragged away to the concentration camp, Itachi being betrayed by the doctor he thought he could trust and escaping back to his hideout only to find his sick lover has been murdered and Yahiko's death.
  • Itachi's death in chapter 21 takes the cake.
  Sasuke howls.
  • Just when you think it's safe, just when you think the story will head in a different path from The Book Thief, just when things are starting to look up again, the bombs drop.
