* CreatorsPet: Some fans find Alessand to be this. His arc in the second season somewhat overshadows the plight of the main cast despite doing very little overall, and he's already on record for being the CreatorsFavorite, as mentioned in an interview.

* RomanticPlotTumor: If you have not guessed by reading the [[StrangledBytheRedString other]] [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot tropes]] regarding the Charioce/Nina relationship in this page, episode 17 was when many people felt like this about their relationship, given that about half of the episode was devoted to them having a date, when most people would have rather seen what the characters planned to do about the Dromos weapon, Azazel and Mugaro's reunion or at least finding out Charioce's motivation for his deeds as king.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: In ''Virgin Soul'''s TV ending, Kaisar's [[spoiler:zombiefication]] was treated with scorn, given that when he was shown in the ending, [[spoiler:he appeared to be a soulless shell of himself]]. The [=BDs=] rectify this by changing the face from expressionless to confident, showing that [[spoiler:his personality was kept intact after zombieficiation]].

* WhatAnIdiot:
** Azazel is subject to this trope a lot in this series, due to poor planning and impulsiveness stemming from his relative immaturity. For example, his plan to use Nina for an attack against Charioce's forces fails completely because he built the plan with her as the only major cornerstone, didn't come up with alternatives, and assumed that he would be able to keep activating her emotion-based transformations.
** Charioce XVII's grand plan: [[spoiler:to use a superweapon to take down Bahamut when he returns]]. How does he accomplish this? By making an enemy of both demonkind and the gods by conquering and enslaving them, and stealing their weaponry respectively. ''Both'' of these races along with humans were able to stop Bahamut together, and even then just barely, with many leaders and people being taken out in the process, and this was just more than a decade prior. And Charioce plans on doing it ''alone''.
** His kingdom gets this as well. That grand old plan Charioce was thinking of implementing? [[spoiler:They formed it from Martinet's notes.]] You, know, [[spoiler:Martinet, one of the ''main villains of the first season'']]?
** And the execution of said plan? [[spoiler:It involves fighting Bahamut in the the capital city, after giving the populace nowhere near enough time to evacuate, resulting in catastrophic collateral damage and hundreds of needless civilian deaths.]] Oh, and [[spoiler:Bahamut [[ItOnlyWorksOnce gains immunity to whatever he's hit with]], so by summoning Bahamut early, Charioce effectively lessened how much good Dromos would do.]] Both of these could have ''easily'' been seen in advance.

* FanNickname:
** '[[Anime/SpaceRunawayIdeon Cosmo]]' for Favaro and '[[Anime/SpaceDandy Spain Dandy]]' for Kaisar, after their respective [[DelinquentHair hairstyles]].
** 'The LegionOfDoom' for Azazel and company is another popular one (and it just so happens that they're an example of the trope with the same name as well).
** 'Cheerios', 'Cheetos', or 'Churros' for King Charoice VII and his descendant Charioce XVII. XVII also gets "King Genocide" in some circles.
** "El Mugo" for Mugaro, after [[spoiler:his reawakening as El]].
