• Heartwarming Moments: Eridan's realisation that as happy as he would be with Karkat, he knows Karkat would not be nearly as happy with him, so he does his best to make Karkat happy by saving prom so Karkat can be with John.
• Ho Yay: John and Karkat, obviously, but Karkat and Eridan have a bit as well.
• Les Yay:
  • Rose and Kanaya.
  • Jade and Nepeta have brief, interrupted sloppy makeouts once the punch is spiked.
• Jerkass Woobie: Yeah Doc Scratch was being a Jerkass, but it's hard not to feel a little bad when Feferi sprays the poor guy in the face with mace for doing his job.
• One-Scene Wonder: Bro's only appearance in the story is one of the funniest moments in it.
• The Woobie: Karkat. It's hard being in love with the Heir of Mixed Signals. It's hard and nobody understands.
