YMMV / Popolocrois

Go To

  • Awesome Music: Ending theme of 1 and 2 are both exellent. "Pietro's Journey" for 1 is upbeat and lively while "A Tiny Flower" is soothing and heartwarming, and both fit the fairy-tale world quite well.
  • Artstyle Dissonance: The art style is so cutesy and brightly coloured - and while the first game isn't too dissonant from the art style, once the second game's story begins, it quickly gets Darker and Edgier.
  • Continuity Lockout: The first anime of Popolocrois is confirmed to be a direct sequel to the 1996 PS1 game, so those who are completely new to the franchise that start the anime first may be lost on who everyone is and what's happening. Thankfully, the fansub group has gone to great lengths to put informative notes at the beginning of the episodes to clarify and explain in detail who everyone is and what's happening.
  • Game-Breaker: Focused attacks - you will actually most likely kill bosses faster than if you spent every round attacking due to the fact that damage is inflated by insane amounts.
  • Moe: Narcia, Hyuu, Kai, and others.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: The game has a T rating. Granted, not as extreme as the other examples of this trope... but this is seriously the least threatening and possibly most cartoony game you'll ever see.
  • The Woobie: Everyone is this at some point.
